Girl From Greece presents Our Big Fat Greek Café Tour - a 75-minute live music show woven with the true stories of two Greek-Australian café families.

Mel Lathouras's family ran the Elite Café and Café Royal in Bundaberg from 1920. Katerini Manolatos's family ran Feros & Feros in Byron Bay from the 1920s. Both families fed their towns for decades. Now their granddaughters are bringing those stories to the stage.

Featuring a seven-piece band performing Greco Retro Jazz - jazz standards with Greek lyrics, Greek classics reimagined, and original arrangements - Our Big Fat Greek Café Tour is part concert, part family history, and all heart.

The tour launched on 2 May 2026 at the Thomas Dixon Centre, South Brisbane, as part of Paniyiri Greek Festival's 50th anniversary celebrations and was a sold out success!

Mel and Kat are taking their music on the road - honouring the Greek café families who helped shape regional Australia. First stop was Ipswich on the 13th of June at Studio 188, Next shows Byron Bay on the 5th of September and Bundaberg on the 19th of September.

Who are we…

Rooted in a profound appreciation for family, friendship, and community and an evolving relationship with Greek music, Girl from Greece emerged to celebrate our collective stories through a mixed tape of jazz, folk, 50s-70s pop, and classical music.

Our Little Greek Shop

A picture of a print made by Anna Manalatos Sirmano it's blue and white. With food and cafe items. And in red font the words siga, siga - σιγά-σιγά

Inspired by playing shop as little girls and being raised by Greek café royalty - we've put together things to make the ordinary feel special.

Featuring art created just for Girl From Greece by celebrated artist Anna Manolatos (Sirmano), each piece is crafted with agapi, a little attitude, and plenty of Greek girl energy.
